FIFA World Cup 2026: Fan Stories
Two personal AI-assisted short films connecting everyday fans to the World Cup, one in Japan, one in Scotland, each built around a real family story.
Hiromi & Yota — Japan
Sadia & Rayan — Scotland
The challenge
Bring the World Cup closer to everyday fans. Make it feel human and personal, not just about the matches. Short documentary-style films, made fully with AI, built to test how consistent, personal, and real the format could get.
Our approach
- Worked with two real families, one in Japan, one in Scotland, to find a personal, specific story in each household's connection to the World Cup.
- Shot and produced each film as an intimate, documentary-style vignette, using AI-assisted tools to speed up production while keeping the story and direction led by the real people in it.
- Kept the two films distinct in setting and character while matching them in tone and pacing, so they read as a clear pair within the same series.
Where AI helped
Supported production acceleration across editing and post, keeping turnaround fast across two concurrent shoots in different countries.
Where the team took over
Documentary-style direction and interviews with each family, on-location shooting in each market, and editorial craft to shape each real story into a short film.
